Your first rave
A practical plan for your first rave, from reading the lineup to getting home.

Choose a night you can picture
Listen to a short set from two artists on the lineup. That tells you more about the night than a flyer’s genre label. A club night with two rooms gives you options if one room feels too busy. A single-room show is easier to navigate and easier to leave and rejoin if the venue permits re-entry.
Make a plan before you leave
- Check the venue address, admission age, ID rules and last-entry time on the organizer’s page.
- Pack earplugs and only the items the venue allows. Check whether your ticket needs an app or can be added to a mobile wallet.
- Pick one set you want to catch, a meeting spot away from the speakers and a way home that works after the show.
When you get inside
Spend the first few minutes near the back or edge of the room. Find the exits, water and a quieter spot before the floor fills up. Give people room to move and ask before filming anyone. If you feel overwhelmed, step out of the crowd and ask venue staff where you can take a break.
