Choose the kind of evening you want

If you’re happy to focus on a performance, try a film screening, seated show or exhibition. If you want conversation, look for a workshop, discussion or guided activity with a clear start and something to do together. Read the venue’s seating and check-in details before choosing.

Give the first 15 minutes a job

Arrive in time to get settled. Find your seat or a good viewing spot, check where the exits are and decide whether you want to stay for the whole program. At a group activity, ask the host how newcomers usually join in. At a show, it’s fine to watch without starting a conversation.

Keep the way home simple

Save the venue address and check your return route. Decide in advance what time you want to leave and where you can wait if your ride is late. Booking one ticket means you can change your pace or go home early without renegotiating the group’s plan.
